Hi there! I created this page as an exercise in learning JavaScript, particularly in relation to manipulating HTML forms. It is a browser based version of a tool I created in FileMaker when I was shopping for my first house. My problem at the time was that there were so many things to consider about a house that it was difficult to make an apples to apples comparison.

So, I made a list of the considerations that mattered to me. They were Price, Distance From Work, Square Footage, and Lot Size. Then, I rated the importance of each of the general considerations. For instance, Price was Extremely Important, Distance From Work was Pretty Important, Square Footage was Moderately Important, and Lot Size was No Biggie.

Then, I went through and filled in the consideration values for each house and rated each value with regard to the range of values. Clicking the calculate button then totaled everything up and gave each house a rating.
